Our Story

My name is Royall “Nikole” Thompson and I am the owner of Royall Acres Farm. I am a veterinarian technician by day, and a “farmer” the rest of the time. I have loved animals since I can remember and have never shied away from a little dirt under my nails and some hard work. I enjoy the peacefulness of living in the country and am happy to be able to raise my daughter, Morgan, away from the stress and chaos of city life. I like to think I’m giving her a glimpse into a simpler way of living.

My husband, Mark, is a wonderful and supportive man in many ways but isn’t what you’d consider a “farm boy.” So, the farm is mine and my daughter’s “baby”.

The farm began in 2005 as a joint venture between me and my mom. We started out raising meat goats including Boer and Boer-cross, then added Great Pyrenees for protection of the herd from other dogs and coyotes. Eventually, we moved from meat goat production to raising and selling the Great Pyrenees dogs as livestock guardians and wonderful pets.

Unfortunately, due to some life changes, we sold all of our dogs and the business closed in 2012 after 7 years in business.

In 2020, I decided to re-open the business so that I could raise my daughter on a farm, like I was raised. I knew I wanted goats but did not want the size of a meat goat breed, so decided on Nigerian Dwarfs. My daughter can enjoy these goats and I can handle them without additional assistance.

We also have chickens, Californian rabbits, several pet dogs, horses, and various other animals. We actually have one LGD Great Pyrenees left named Yeti and I have recently began my journey in beekeeping.
